Scene Study, Episode 1: With Stephen McKinley Henderson
Juilliard Drama alumnus Stephen McKinley Henderson (Group 1) doesn't come to scene work class with preconceived notions about how the actors should interpret the play. The class is all about embracing the moment and "getting it true" rather than "getting it right," as Stephen likes to say. In this episode, we see actors from Group 45 explore a pivotal scene from Athol Fugard's A Lesson from Aloes, a play that Stephen knows intimately from his own performances in the role of Piet's friend Steven.
